"Death Dance" is my short animated film that I started while going to the Academy of Art University. It takes place on Day of the Dead (Dia de los Muertos) and is about - you guessed it - life, death, and dancing. Cus there is nothing cooler in this world than Dancing Skeletons.
Really.
Following are some production stills from my piece and since it is still in the progress of getting made, please free to email me to receive updates on it or if you would like to help contribute to its completion.
The main character in my piece is the Skeleton. I modeled it myself and it is an anatomically-stylized hamster (rodent) skeleton. I took a few liberties with the skull. It is more of a cross between a mouse and a rat, with some hamster thrown in. I also have a skull and bone collection, but to see that you will have to email me or stop by my studio sometime.
Skeleton Skull with textures (but no markings):
This is death with textures and markings:
The textures on the skull were done by both my friend Anthony Jones and I. Anthony worked with me to give me a basis for the textures working from reference I gave him and then when I got them back I finessed them until I got exactly the look I was going for with the skulls.
Production Stills
These are a few of the production stills from shots that have been rendered. You can also see some of these shots in my
demo reels.
I have had a great group of people working on this project as well.
The following are some of the people who have helped me on my project so far:
Richard Van Cleave - Rigging Edwin Poon - Lighting
Anthony Jones - Texturing
Peter Cole - Music
